Aran sweater is a simple raglan sweater with saddle shoulder shaping. Sweater is slightly cropped and it features a simple mock neck. Worked in the round in stockinette stitch all the way through. Intended to be worn with 0 to 7 cm / 0” to 2¾“ of positive ease. Pattern is written in American knitting terms.

Bust size of the finished sweater with ease built in is XS 85, S 93, M 100, L 108, XL 115, 2XL 120, 3XL 132, 4XL 143, 5XL 150 cm, XS 33½”, S 36½”, M 39¼”, L 42½”, XL 45¼”, 2XL 47¼”, 3XL 52”, 4XL 56¼“, 5XL 59” inches. Model is wearing size M on 93 cm bust.

Gauge

13 stitches by 19 rows = 4” x  4” (10 x 10 cm) using size US10.5 / 6.50 mm needles in stockinette stitch in the round after blocking.

 Yarn

275, (300), 325, (350), 400, (425), 450, (475), 500  grams of Cardiff cashmere “Brushmere” 25 grams = 45 meters /49 yards. Featured in color 101.

Suggested needles

For the neck and first half of the yoke you will need double pointed needles or (short tip) 12” size US10.5 / 6.50 mm, 16”+ 32” or 40” US10.5 / 6.50 mm 40 cm + 80 cm or 100 cm circular knitting needles or size to obtain gauge. Longer needles can be used for the neck and the sleeves if you use magic loop method.
